Sassy Pup Studios

The messages you're answering at 9pm. The follow-ups that slip through because you were slammed. The leads you find out about three days late. The same questions you've typed out a hundred times.

That's not just inconvenient. Every one of those is a customer who didn't hear back fast enough — and went with whoever responded first.

I'm Kate — a small business workflow automation specialist based in Spartanburg, SC. I build and deploy automated systems that handle customer communication, lead capture, follow-up, and tool integration for service businesses that run on calls, messages, and appointment requests. My job is making sure your business keeps responding and following up even when you're not there — and that working with me doesn't become another thing on your plate. Most projects are running within a couple of weeks, and you won't need to clear your calendar to make it happen.

If automation won't actually help you, I'll tell you that before you spend a dime. No pitch. No oversell. Just a straight answer — usually within one business day.

Why My Automation Approach Is Different

Most small business automation fails because it's built by technical people for technical people. The setup looks impressive in the demo — then the owner gets busy, something breaks, and nobody touches it again. Complex systems get abandoned. Simple ones get used.

Because that's when the system has to work on its own — and most don't.

I build for the version of you that's behind and running on fumes. Because that's exactly when your systems need to hold up without you babysitting them.

That philosophy has a very on-brand origin story. Sassy Pup Studios is named after my first dog — a very opinionated girl with zero patience for unnecessary chaos and strong opinions about how things should work. (She would have had thoughts about your inbox situation, and none of them would have been polite.) She didn't need flashy. She needed consistent, reliable, and done right. Running a business confirmed what dog ownership taught me: the systems that stick are simple, predictable, and repeatable. Fancy breaks. Reliable works. And a good system works hardest when you're paying it the least attention.

Small Business Automation: What Problems I Actually Fix

I set up, configure, and deploy automated workflow systems — this is hands-on implementation, not consulting or strategy documents. The routine parts of your business run without you touching them.

You stop being the single point of failure in your own business. And your customers stop experiencing the gaps that make you look less reliable than you actually are.

The problems I fix most often:

  • Inquiries disappearing because you were heads-down doing actual work when they came in
  • Typing the same reply for the 40th time because nothing is automated yet
  • Leads going cold because follow-up depends entirely on you remembering to do it
  • Forms and appointment requests piling up and needing manual sorting every single day
  • Data living in four places at once because your tools have never talked to each other
Every hour a lead goes without a response, the odds of converting them drop. Automation doesn't just save you time — it plugs the slow, invisible leak of customers who got a faster answer somewhere else.

Who I Help With Workflow Automation

I work with small businesses and solo owners in Spartanburg, across Upstate SC, and beyond. If you're reading this thinking "this is exactly my situation" — it probably is. The owners I work with aren't bad at running their businesses. They're just stretched too thin doing it, and the gaps are starting to show.

You don't need to understand automation. You just need to be done watching things fall through the cracks.

Local service businesses

Missed calls. Messages coming in from three different places. Evenings spent catching up on people who contacted you during the day. You're doing good work — but the communication chaos makes you look less responsive than you actually are. I build systems that capture every inquiry and handle common questions automatically, so your responsiveness finally matches your quality of work.

Online sellers

Same shipping questions every day. Platforms that don't talk to each other. An inbox that never actually reaches zero. You're not behind because you're slow — you're behind because this volume shouldn't require a human for every single interaction. I automate the repetitive replies and organize incoming orders so you're managing the exceptions, not the routine.

Offices and consulting businesses

Leads come in and fall through because follow-up isn't consistent. Forms get lost. Scheduling is a back-and-forth that eats your calendar. You have a process — it just lives entirely in your head and breaks the moment you get busy. I build intake and follow-up systems so nothing slips and every client gets a response, without it depending on you to remember every step.

Not sure if your situation qualifies? That's exactly what the first conversation is for.

How Small Business Automation Works With Me

I design, build, and deploy automation systems — hands-on technical work that ends with something running, not a document explaining what you should eventually build. When we're done, you have working infrastructure. Not a roadmap. Not a recommendation. Something that actually works.

And once it's running, you won't need a developer to keep it that way. I build systems that a normal business owner can understand and adjust — not black boxes that only I can touch. If something needs tweaking, you'll be able to do it. If it ever needs me, I'm a message away. You're not signing up for ongoing dependency — you're getting something you actually own.

Simple

No bloated tool stacks. No unnecessary complexity. If it doesn't need to be there, it won't be — because extra moving parts are extra things that can break.

Stable

Reliability over flashy features. Built to keep working when you're busy, tired, or not paying attention — which is most of the time.

Private

Your data stays yours. I don't use tools that harvest client data. I never need your passwords — access is granted properly and revocable by you at any time.

Right now I'm taking on first clients at introductory rates — you pay less, I build my portfolio. It's a straightforward trade that works for both of us.

I'm not the right fit if you want someone to run your entire business for you. I am the right fit if you want fewer interruptions, fewer dropped balls, and a business that keeps moving even when you step away from it.

The problem doesn't fix itself. One conversation tells us both whether I can.

You don't need to know what you want built or understand how any of this works. Just tell me what part of your day interrupts you most — inquiries, follow-ups, scheduling, whatever's messiest — and I'll give you a straight answer on whether I can fix it.
